Congratulations to Big Brother Anoop and Little Brother Gio, our 2024 Match of the Year!
Big Brother Anoop and Little Brother Gio personify the magic that happens in great match relationships.
With few positive role models in his life, Gio was acting out at home and school and was headed down a risky path. His mother family reached out to BBBS for help and Gio was matched with his Big Brother Anoop.
During their time together, Anoop & Gio’s favorite activities together have been enjoying meals together, playing tennis together, and long conversation. Anoop has always focused on broadening Gio’s horizons by working with Gio to develop his confidence and teaching him life skills such as public speaking.
Today, Gio reflects on how the trajectory of his life might have been different if not for Anoop’s positive presence and mentoring.
